St Tikhon of Zadonsk, beloved Bishop of Voronezh and one of the great saints of 18th-century Russia, is depicted in this Jordanville-tradition icon with the canonical depth of that school. Known for his asceticism, his pastoral letters, and his extraordinary humility before all, St Tikhon remains a beloved model for clergy and monastics in the Russian Church. A quality mounted icon from Damascene Gallery.
